Firebird VII - 2024

Epiphone Firebird VII

Pickup and Hardware Refresh

I overhauled my Epiphone Firebird VII: Replacing the pickups, Tailpiece, and Tuners; and adding 3 mini toggle switches to control the pickup wiring for each pickup.  My Epiphone Firebird VII has gone through a couple iterations over the years.  When I bought it in 2016, the previous owner had replaced the bridge pickup with a Duncan JB humbucker.  Read about the initial changes here.

In  2024 I overhauled the guitar, replacing the Nickel covered pickups with Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Gold Mini Humbuckers, and added a mini toggle switch for each pickup, providing coil splitting options for each pickup independently.  I Updated the Maestro tailpiece with a new gold one, as the old one had gone mostly nickel.  Lastly, I replaced the tuning machines with Grover auto-locking Rotomatics so all the hardware looked brand new.
