 Simply Subtle

Simply Subtle first came to life in the bustling and eclectic music scene of Washington, DC back in 2012, quickly carving out a vibrant and memorable presence that resonated deeply with local audiences and lasted passionately until 2016. What truly set Simply Subtle apart from other contemporary bands was its distinctive and somewhat rare lineup featuring not one, but two charismatic front-men—Chris Ingham and James Kirby—each bringing their own unique style, energy, and vision while steering the band in distinctly different creative directions.

This fascinating dynamic interplay between the two leaders resulted in an immersive, highly energetic, and sometimes unpredictable live experience that never failed to captivate, surprise, and thoroughly engage audiences night after night. The group, beautifully rounded out by the talented and reliable Steve Clark on bass and backing vocals, alongside the steadfast and trusty Steve Hauenstein on percussion, went on to lay down two compelling full-length albums that beautifully captured the essence of their unique sound, chemistry, and collaborative spirit.
