Rambler Records is a snug, independent recording and mixing haven, lovingly built from scratch by me, Chris Ingham. Designed to deliver stellar recordings on demand, it’s always evolving—tweaking the sound and atmosphere—without charging the usual arm and a leg for studio time. Whether you're tracking vocals, electric or acoustic guitars, bass, keys, or pretty much any instrument, we capture it all with high-quality mics and preamps in a laid-back, creative setting. Got drums? We’ve got an electronic kit right here, and if you want that authentic acoustic drum punch, we partner with top-notch studios ready to make it happen.

 

The studio proudly boasts an impressive and carefully curated lineup of top-tier music production gear. This exceptional setup features warm and rich-sounding WARM and ART tube preamps, paired with a diverse selection of high-quality microphones from renowned brands such as BLUE, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, and several others. When it comes to mixing, the studio is well-equipped with premium WARM Audio outboard equipment, offering a vintage touch alongside modern digital powerhouses like ProTools and Logic. This is further enhanced by an excellent range of plugins from industry favorites including UAD, FabFilter, and Waves, providing a comprehensive toolkit for any music production need.

Electric Guitars
Rambler Records focuses on capturing great electric guitar sounds. How? By using a soundproof amp closet with speaker cabinets that block outside noise, letting amps be played loud for the best tone, plus Weber Z-Matchers to connect almost any amp easily.

Bass Guitars
Bass guitars can be recorded directly into WARM Audio preamps for a rich, warm tone, routed through a Radial DI box that's equipped with Jensen transformers to maintain clarity and punch, or captured using the powerful and gritty sound of our 1200W Sunn bass amplifier for that authentic, full-bodied low-end growl.

Keyboards, Synths, Midi Instruments
From expressive Pianist-accompanied Ballads, groovy Synth-Soaked Funk, and classic Honky-Tonk Piano flair, to virtually any kind of electric or electronic instrument you can imagine, you’re thoroughly covered with WARM Audio preamps, versatile Midi connectivity, and top-of-the-line Radial DI boxes specially designed for seamless multimedia connectivity and pristine sound quality.

Vocals & Acoustic Instruments
The isolation booth offers an ideal setting for capturing vocals and acoustic instruments, including:

The signal chain starts with BLUE, Sterling, and Sennheiser microphones, flowing through top-tier preamps and gear from WARM Audio and MOTU.

Drums
Rambler Records employs an Alesis DM8 electric drum kit to trigger SuperiorDrummer2. Featuring more than a dozen world-class drum kits and endless combinations, drum sounds can be perfectly matched to the vibe of each song—capturing the feel and energy of a live drummer. Acoustic drums can also be recorded at one of our partner studios in Nashville, TN, or MIDI tracks can be imported to make full use of our expansive drum sample collection.
